Windsurfing

Popular beaches for windsurfers with good roadside access include Blyth South Beach, Low Newton (near Embleton), Beadnell Bay and Spittal Beach, Berwick. Sailing Clubs with windsurfing members and facilities include the Berwick, Beadnell and Coquet Clubs (see Sea Sailing for details).

The regional windsurfing co-ordinator, David Dobson, can provide details of all RYA approved training facilities in the region. He may be contacted on (01904) 782830 (updated July 2000).

Further information can also be found by visiting the Northumbrian Windsurfing Website who have over 35 members of varying ages. It sails at a mixture of locations including QEII, Druridge Bay, Beadnell and Budle Bay.
