Holy Island is only accessible by road across a causeway that is covered at high tide. It is your responsibility to make sure you only cross when it is safe
The times provided on the County Council’s website are for those people who wish to use the Holy Island Causeway Road to access (or return from) Holy island. The times should be treated with caution, as local weather conditions (such as high wind) can change them. Always allow 30 minutes extra time to compensate for these variables.
If you are walking to or from Holy Island along the Pilgrim’s Way these times and do not apply. You should read our guidance on walking the Pilgrim’s Way before you set off.
